Getting Started

This is my first official post. Knowing my nature is to procrastinate for months and then do eerything at one, I'm sure that is how this blog will be. This week there may be 10 postings and then noting for 3 months. But such is life.

It's been a busy summer with our house being totally redone on the outside. It is really nice and it is really really nice to be done with that part. School started a couple of weeks ago and we are still trying to get into a groove with homeschooling and band and PE etc.

For today, it's what is on the needles and what just came off. I finally finished the socks for my mom. I made her the Flame Wave socks from Interweave's Favorite Socks book from Cascade Fixation in blue. I made mysef a pair in Dirftwood. I did make an alteration to the pattern for mom's socks. Instead of just knitting 1 round before beginning the pattern, I did two rows of 1x1 ribbing and the top does not roll nearly the way mine do (even after blocking).

I have finished a few hat and bootie sets for the hospital Mom works at and I plan a few sets for a local crisis pregnancy center as well. I am still trying to get my dear daughter interested, but alas, she would rather play football.

I will try to get some pictures posted of works in progress along with the finished ones.
